Love is in the air

Love is in the air

Freshman notice the Val-o-gram sign posted on the bulletin board in sophomore hall. Hopefully more students see this sign and get encouraged to send a Val-o-gram.

Valentine’s Day is the one day of the year that can bring dread upon people or that could inspire one to express their feelings to their true love.

Does it really matter who a person spends there day with? The majority of people can say that they would rather have someone to be with; because it’s always a good feeling to know that any person can be loved by someone.

In the hallways of Lewis-Palmer High School, the heat is always on the week before Valentine’s Day. The advertisement of the holiday is huge, from the famous DECA match-making quiz to choirs singing Val-o-grams.

For high school sweethearts love is a word that is used very freely. From make-ups to break-ups high school is full of young ones trying to find love.

“High school relationships can be serious to a point where true love lasts forever,”  Sophomore Lakin Commerford said. “My parents are an example of that.”

Commerford plans on spending her Valentine’s Day with her boyfriend; others may spend it single, and some may even spend it with family members.

Most people are picky when it comes to what they want in their significant other. Looks and personality are a main key factor in finding that perfect guy or girl.

“The first thing that I want in a guy is personality. He should also be honest and know how to make me laugh but it’s always hard to find the perfect guy,”  Freshman Alexis Holmgren said.

Not only does it matter on who a person shares their love with but also how it is spent. This holiday only comes once a year. Some people can’t wait for it to come around and others will always dislike it. But like they say there is always someone for everyone.
