The general impression of golf is commonly thought of elderly men in knee-high socks and waist-high plaid pants. Yet this common misconception is very inaccurate; woman can play golf, too. They choose whether or not to wear the part as well.

The young ladies at Lewis-Palmer High School have taken advantage of the golfing opportunity.

This year the season consists of 8 players on an all-girl team. There are four members in in the two divisions (varsity and junior varsity) of the team; but the teams aren’t set in stone.

“Each win or loss debates whether or not the golf player is varsity or junior varsity for the next tournament,” sophomore Jenny Yoo said.

It’s been a rough start in the past years with talent and skills, but with this year’s season the LPHS girls have improved tremendously.

Five tournaments have been played total so far this season, with three tournaments for the varsity girls and two tournaments for junior varsity.

“The mental game usually is successful if positively is in the players mind, that has been my biggest strategy for this season,” Yoo said.
