At Saturday’s varsity baseball game Lewis-Palmer versus Discovery Canyon Campus, the dugout was filled with anger and disappointment as the Lewis-Palmer Rangers lost 12-6. The team gave it their all, but it was not enough to emerge victorious.

The day before the game, Logan Woish seemed confident about the upcoming game. “I think we should do well; we just need to not make errors and hit well,” Woish said.

Unfortunately, Discovery Canyon dominated from the start. By the second inning, DCC made six runs while the Rangers only had one. The third inning brought even more disheartening results when Discovery Canyon had ten runs and Lewis-Palmer remained at one.

Although the score was not looking good for the Rangers, the crowd still cheered, saying that the team had risen triumphant from worse situations before. The team members remained enthusiastic and cheered on their teammates.

Due to the energetic spirit displayed by the Rangers, the fourth inning brought only one more run for DCC and five runs for Lewis-Palmer.

The team tried to stay strong and make good plays, but by the bottom of the seventh inning, Discovery Canyon had a grand total of twelve runs leaving Lewis-Palmer in the dust with six runs.

Junior Sean Grundman, shortstop, said that the team felt disappointed because they felt they could have played better.

“We just need to bounce back and shake it off,” Grundman said.

Next time, the varsity baseball Rangers are definitely going to bounce back and bring their “A” game.
