Colorado Springs cluster group of World Link foreign exchange students will hold a Global Youth Service Day project on May 6th in Cottonwood Park. Students from all over the world will fundraise for kids in the Fostering Hope Foundation. They are also doing fundraisings in their schools by putting boxes for money and donations.

Every year the World Link in Colorado Springs is required to do a big Community Service project that involves all of them and helps to make their host community better; leaving something significant after they leave to their home countries.

This year, the motto of the project is “Drops for Hopes”. Kids in foster care are usually victims of child abuse and bad treatment in their families. The organization places children in foster families that take care of those neglected ones. They give families all the support they have through volunteers that work there, but it usually is not enough. Families are usually isolated, and kids often have a hard time adjusting.

“I want everyone in Lewis-Palmer to get involved and raise the biggest amount of money among all the school”, Nicu Gaibu, the cluster group president said.

The motto of the World Link exchange program is “Program with purpose”. This year its purpose is helping kids who faced difficulties in their lives. For those who would like to participate and donate, go to Cottonwood Park on May 6th at 12 pm or donate to fundraising boxes placed in school.
