The Lewis-Palmer High School Girls Soccer team has made their way through to the play-off season for soccer. Their most recent game was against the Canon City Tigers.

This current season only two games were the LPHS girls defeated and the rest in their favor. Many teams have come to verse the rising stars at this school.

For the play off season, every time a win is made by our team on our home field the next playoff game is at our home field.

A blowout victory was made for LP eight and Canon City zero for a final score.

On Tuesday, May 8, 2012 the Canon City Tigers took a chance against our girls, but with great failure went down in the first 3 minutes of the game.

“We had a great start to the game, and since we were able to keep ahead I (a JV freshman swinger) go to play in the game for more than 10 minutes.” Freshman Lexi Holmgren said.

The first goal was made by Senior Courtney Guetlein, followed by other varsity players.

By half time our team was up five points. The freshman and less played players on varsity got to have much playing time by the second half.

The stands full of ranger spirit brought much pride and influence to the girls out on the field.

In the end, the LPHS varsity team won. Sorry Canon City but you’re going home and LP advances in the playoffs.

Their next game will be held Friday May 11, 2012 at home against Valley Christian.

“The varsity team is always able to start strong at the beginning of a game; hopefully we can keep the good work up for a more advanced team next game.” Holmgren said.
