Many girls have been thinking about homecoming and prom since they were little. Dreaming of getting ready, getting asked to homecoming and dancing the night away. However, girls actually have mixed feelings about it.

“I actually think this homecoming is going to be boring,” freshman Jourdan Valentine stated.

There were many statements similar to this. Not all girls are as fanatic as the cliché makes them out to be.

Some people stated that it isn’t even worth going to the dance because of the price. Many girls are going alone due to a lack of dates and/or friends.

But there are girls who do enjoy homecoming. Spending and hour or two on hair and makeup or even doing their friend’s hair are some of the things they enjoy doing.

There are even girls who don’t have an opinion on the matter at all. They couldn’t care less if they go to homecoming but they don’t dislike it either.

My opinion sides with the not overly excited girls. There are many other dances, so getting excited about one dance isn’t worth it. However, I’m curious to see how the night plays out since it is my first homecoming dance.

I don’t expect it to be anything special. I hope it will be fun and a great memory, but I think it will be just like any other school dance.
