Students shape parts of the brain with play-doh.

Mrs. Swanson’s AP Psychology class recently performed an educational activity in which they used play-doh to shape the parts of the human brain. The activity was meant to teach students about the parts and the arrangement of the brain.

Mrs. Swanson, leader behind the project, was trying to create a new way to teach about the brain. “Mrs. Swanson is a great teacher,” senior Joe Dell said.

The students found the activity hard at times, and there were a lot of specific directions involved. One problem frequently encountered was that the play-doh brains would often fall apart.

Overall, the activity was designed to provide a more creative way for students to learn about the human brain. It was a good educational activity for the class as a whole. However, some of the students said they did not get much out of the activity, and Mrs. Swanson is unsure if she will repeat the activity later.
