Embarrassing moments happen to all of us. It can happen at work, at home and even at school. At the time they can seem devastating, but in reality, they aren’t that bad.

Falling down the stairs and scattering one’s books seems like an embarrassing ordeal.  The best way to recover is to brush oneself off and laugh about it.

“I told myself it was no big deal,” freshman Adly Piccalo said.

Almost everyone has called someone by the wrong name. That’s pretty embarrassing, but it’s not the end of the world.  Some kids and even adults, happen to do that as well. The best way to recover from your little slip up is to apologize and restate the correct name. If one doesn’t know their name simply ask for it.

Staying up the night before a school day can take a hard toll on a person. It’s completely embarrassing falling asleep in class and having the teacher ask a student a question while he or she is sleeping. Not knowing the answer to a question can be just as embarrassing. One way someone can cover up from that is to smile and ask if they can repeat the question.

An awful day can start with being late for class and tumbling into the wrong class room. With the whole class staring at the unlucky person, it can be extremely embarrassing.  Tripping in the hallway can also be very embarrassing, especially when one falls into somebody and drops everything they were holding.

“I was really embarrassed when I dropped all my books, but I was surprised that my friends helped me pick up everything,” freshman Abel Klopfenstein said.

Embarrassing moments happen all the time, but all people can do is brush them off and keep going.
