It is very hard to get privacy online in this digital age. Millions of people’s information floats around the internet and is vulnerable for anyone to use.

Online privacy has been an issue for many years now. Most commonly associated with companies like Facebook, the recent product to be in the mix is Apple’s IOS 6.

Recently when Apple upgraded its IPhone/IPad operating system IOS there were concern about its new maps app, Siri, and overall functionality. Not very many people were aware of Apple giving the right to app developers to track your web and app activity. This right here is a significant violation to personal online privacy

Some might argue that tracking activity is an easier way to personalize user’s ads, but at what cost. This action by Apple could lead to a more unstable environment concerning privacy.

Apple can make millions off of this new policy by selling your private information to app developers.

Now if you’re wondering how you can prevent advertising to track your information, Apple has an option to limit ad tracking, but it’s not under your privacy settings. If you want to limit ad tracking on your IOS device just follow these simple steps:

1. Click on the settings icon

2. Click on General

3. Click on About (on top)

4. Scroll down to near the bottom and click on Advertising

5. Click on Off to turn ON Limit Ad Tracking

It’s crucial for consumers to know their rights to privacy. Companies like Apple should not be allowed to violate the consumer’s rights. The people need to demand their privacy.
