Halloween is coming up, that wonderful time when ghouls, ghosts and scary images come out to frighten people.

Students at LP love Halloween for many different reasons.

Halloween is the school’s “month” because the school colors are black and orange. Students can really get into the theme of Halloween, as well as being spirited for school, making October a month of fun.

Students look forward to carving pumpkins, getting costumes, and planning parties for when kids go out and are allowed to be someone else for one night.

“My favorite Halloween activity is to get a bunch of candy and leave a trail leading to a bush. I love watching people look through the bush and try to find something, then get caught in it,” sophomore Danny Driscoll said.

On Halloween night students go out and party, or they go trick-or-treating with friends.

“My favorite thing about Halloween is trick-or-treating, so that I’m able to hang out with friends and eat a bunch of candy,” junior Kelsey Altmayer said.

Not all students go trick-or-treating, either because they are “too old” or make other plans such as going to a party or volunteering to take younger siblings trick-or-treating. High school students get yelled at now for doing trick-or-treating. Yet they do it anyway to have fun, and get into the spirit of Halloween.
