Thanksgiving is a day dedicated to spending quality time with family, eating delicious, traditional foods, and recognizing all of the wonderful people in our lives. The students at Lewis-Palmer High School can’t wait for the much needed break coming up.

It’s a vacation from the fast-paced school routine as well as the perfect occasion for some family bonding. Most importantly, people use this time to be thankful for all of their blessings.

“My brother is visiting from Argentina and I’m really glad I get to spend time with him during Thanksgiving Break. My aunt and grandma are also coming to visit,” sophomore Michaela Okland said.

Students are also anticipating the yummy food that makes up the standard of Thanksgiving dinner.

“The turkey is always my favorite part,” sophomore Dmitri Smith said.

Thanksgiving is a holiday where you take the time to celebrate everything you’re thankful for. The kids of Lewis-Palmer are definitely excited for the week-long break from school.

“It’s good we have a whole week off so I’ll have enough time to hang out with family, friends, and even some down time to just chill at home,” Okland said.

While some students are spending their break at home in Monument, some are going on trips out of the country, state, or even just outside of the town. Regardless of where they are planning to spend the splendid holiday, everyone is very much looking forward to Thanksgiving break.
