Canadian electro act Crystal Castles combined their high energy set with a frenzy of strobing lights Wednesday night, October 17 at the Ogden Theater. The venue opened up at 7:00 PM and a crowd of people ranging from the ages of 16, to mid 40’s scurried inside to get ready for the show to start.

Slowly but surely the venue packed up. Around 8:40 PM, the first band, Kontravoid began with a very awkward open. The crowd seemed uninterested and uncooperative towards him. Eventually the music started breaking in and people became more comfortable with it.

Immediately after Kontravoid, HEALTH began to play. The crowd seemed to really enjoy their upbeat and loud music. They brought many fun and rambunctious vibes to the crowd, and got them very ready for Crystal Castles.

Just after 10:15 PM Ethan Kath and Alice Glass appeared with negative fanfare, except for the roll of synthetic fog. Alice Glass, the bands main singer began with a very exhilarating appearance crawling up the microphone.

Crystal Castle’s opening song “Baptism” made the crowd go crazy. After a few songs and the crowd got comfortable, Alice made her way into the crowd. Kneeling on top of everyone, Alice continued shouting her lyrics.

The floor then became packed, and people were boxed in shoulder to shoulder. Pushing, shoving, and jumping on toes were what the concert became to. At one point, Alice crowd surfed and people became so crazy that she fell on top of a group of people.

The show ended with the leaking of their new song to their new album “Wrath of god”.

“It was an exhilarating experience, and I would definitely go to another one of their concerts,” Former student at Lewis-Palmer Morgan Owens said.

After the show was over, all the sweaty bodies emptied out the venue and waited outside to see Alice. Crowds of people were gathered out front waiting for her arrival. Some had been saying there were rumors of a meet and greet. Even though it was highly unlikely, no one wanted to leave and miss their chance to meet Alice. Unfortunately, Alice never came but the experience of the music alone was quite enough to fulfill ones night.
