The students of Lewis-Palmer High School are looking forward to the upcoming winter dance, Snowball, on February 16th.  While some students have been planning on going to all of Lewis-Palmer’s dances, there are others who aren’t so sure they want to go because they don’t think it will live up to Homecoming. However, a majority of the students are ecstatic about the upcoming dance because they had such a good time at it last year.

“I don’t think it will be as great as Homecoming was, but I still think it will be fun because I’ll have a good time with my friends,” sophomore Abby Weingart said.

Weingart was new at the beginning of the school year so she is excited to experience Snowball for the first time at Lewis-Palmer.

Since the dance is so close to Valentine’s Day, it’s possible there will be a fair amount of couples at Snowball to celebrate the holiday together, but a few are going stag without dates.

“I’m just planning on going with a group of friends; I think it will be a fun way to spend Valentine’s Day, even though it’s a couple days after,” sophomore Jordan Arnold said.

Everyone who is planning on going is intrigued by the signs in the fish bowl and other places around the school that portray the theme.

“I think the decorations will be really wintery, and that students will enjoy the way we’ve decorated,” sophomore student council member Sam Farmer said.

In a little over a week, the students will be gathered in the cafeteria, dancing and having a great time with their friends at Snowball. It’s coming up soon and many students are counting the days until February 16th.
