Busy preparing for the next big step in life, juniors and seniors begin their quest for completing and gathering necessities for life after high school.  As we approach the end of the year many students are finding that it’s time to get serious and figure out their plans.

Although this may be more nerve-wracking for seniors, junior Tristian Hibbard has no stress for things soon to come but has begun to think some things through.

“After I graduate I want time to breathe and make sure I’m set with what I want to do.  As of now I want to study psychology. I want to become some sort of therapist and I want to help a lot of people.” Hibbard said.

Other students such as senior Breanna Seydel are more eager to get out there and begin their college journey right away. Seydel plans on becoming a teacher.

To prepare for this she has decided to attend UCCS after graduation to get her teaching degree and major in English. Now that Seydel is ready to start college she has advice for underclassmen.

“Get good grades, get a job, and save money! Save money.  That’s one thing I really wish I would’ve done. Slowly get ready to become an adult living on your own,” Seydel said.

Hibbard also advices students to do well in school in order to prepare for their future:

“Do well in school and don’t procrastinate. Break that habit now. Do what you need to do” Hibbard said.

Preparation for life after high school will help students leave with less stress and will benefit  from this by having an easier beginning to life on their own. It is well advised by most adults to begin thinking about your future as soon as possible.
