The King Soopers on Baptist Road in Monument is adding a very welcome addition to its team, a Starbucks coffee shop.

The coffee shop will be opened on Sunday, February 24, 2013, and will be open 7 days a week, from 6:00am-8:00pm.

“I’m really feeling good about this, and I’m really excited to be part of this new experience for our hometown King Soopers store,” Starbucks manager Melinda Weigner said.

Students and teachers alike are excited for this event. This starbucks will be closer to Lewis-Palmer High School than the one in old Monument, or the one inside Safeway.

The store features new renovations, which include comfy new chairs, smaller tables, and an awesome renewed counter where the sales are conducted. The area where the shop was opened has been repainted, and new floor tiles have been added as well.

“It’s exciting to be working at a place that people love to go. I enjoy meeting new people and gaining a whole new work experience through Starbucks,” Starbucks barista Cole Jasper said.

An excellent deal that King Soopers is offereing at the moment to gather interest in the new coffee shop is if someone spends $50 or more in thier shopping at the store, King Soopers will give that customer a free Starbucks coffee that is under $5. This is only able to be used inside the Starbucks that has opened inside the store.

Starbucks is a desired addition indeed, especially for students. At a location that is both local and convenient, students are able to get coffee faster than ever before, and are now able to fit getting coffee into their busy schedules.
