Senior pranks have been a tradition in all schools across the nation. It is a way for the graduating class to make one last impression on the school and its faculty.

For many seniors, as well as the other students, the annual year-end prank is very memorable, most of which are harmless and funny. Some pranks are memorable because they are just plain boring and uneventful, such as last year’s prank in which the senior class set alarm clocks to ring at the same time all over the school.

To redeem themselves, the seniors made a web of yarn across senior hall. Many students understood the joke and went under and around the “obstacle course”, but some students attempted to rip and destroy the delicate work the seniors made.

I believe that everyone should understand that the senior class takes a considerable amount of time and planning to design a prank, and even more time to build it. Students need to understand that a senior prank is a prank to the whole school, and they should be aware of how much effort is put into a hilarious last joke.

Past years’ pranks have included a “beach” outside the front of the school, complete with water balloon fights and water guns. Another memorable prank was a water slide made in senior hall. These kinds of pranks are risky and dangerous, but they are also the most memorable.

A good prank would have approval from the school, but the best prank would get the teachers involved. I have confidence this year we seniors, class of 2013, will make a memorable prank. It should be special to our class specifically and fun for everyone.

This year’s seniors should use past successes and failures to make a fantastically hilarious and memorable prank.
