Teen Chrstianity kept secret

Esther Trowbridge, Author

For nearly two hundred years, Christianity has been convicted by other religions and other social groups around the world. Over the past decade, teenagers have been ridiculed by sharing their faith with their peers.

Teenagers, especially Christians, often have a really arduous time sharing their Godly experiences and faith with those around them. Some Christian teenagers are ignored, mocked, and even bullied because of their faith in God.

The results are staggering. Studies have shown that by the time high school students reach college, 83% of teen Christians lose their faith.

Public schools can be the most difficult battle fields for Christians, because there is a variety of different beliefs and values and everybody is different. Most cases of ridicule and criticism often happen in a public school setting.

Many Christians feel that they need to keep their beliefs and values secret out of fear of what other people will say and do.

Can Christians have the freedom to express their faith and beliefs without the fear of being bullied, accused of slander, and not being put down by their peers? The core of Christianity is to love one’s neighbor, to share the love of Jesus Christ, and share the freedom that comes with Redemption.

If 83% of young Christians lose their faith by the time they go to college, why doesn’t the world listen for once to what we have to say? Being a Christian at a young age is challenging because of the accusations many other people place on young Christians.

Out of all the religions in the world that has been accused and judged the most, are these two: Judaism and Christianity. Everywhere in the media and society, there are jokes, slander, and ridicule against Christianity stating that it is all fraud.

Those who have experienced the power of God themselves say differently. If one has not experienced anything of God and His power, then how can they say that He doesn’t exist, nor accuse young teen Christians that they believe in a Fairy Tale?
