Will After Prom be a bust?

Mariah Comella, Ranger Review Reporter

Prom is the one day of the school year to which most upperclassman look forward. It is one night that they can dress to the nines and have a blast. During the actual dance, most look forward to the awesome music and partying with their friends- some for the last time.

Other than the dance itself, they mostly look forward to laid back fun after prom. This year, After Prom might not measure up to expectations.

For the past two years after prom has been held at Mr. Biggs, but this year the parents are holding it at Bear Creek Elementary School. I may not be an upperclassman, but I am going to prom and I am unsure of the night since it will be held at an elementary school.

Some of the people that have never been to prom or after prom think that Bear Creek will be lame. However, when surveyed, 66 upperclassman out of 74 are not concerned about the location.

At Mr. Biggs there were many self-explanatory activities to do, but at a location such as Bear Creek the parents and staff will have to be extremely creative to keep students entertained and satisfied.

A local parent, Mrs. Karen Shuman, stated that they negotiated with Brunswick Zone back in May of 2012. In October that year Brunswick made their final offer that was four times the amount of Mr. Biggs, which would have made after prom tickets more than prom tickets.

Prom will be spectacular, of course, but some upperclassmen are unsure of the location. Maybe next year the upper classmen could make suggestions as to the location of the night’s events.
