Seniors sit looking at the new year books before the Excellence Assembly.

Looking back on my previous 3 years at high school, there are so many things I wish I would have known as a freshman. Being a senior here a LP is a complete blast; I have the best of friends and some of the greatest teachers.

Now that I am a senior and college is right around the corner I can’t help but wonder where my time has gone. I always thought about how exciting it was going to be when I would graduate, move on and go to college. Now that it is all here crashing down on my shoulders I am less excited than I thought I would be.

If I could go back in time I would take each day, one day at a time. I would completely slow down and not take my high school years for granted. I was always too worried about moving on and growing up that I believe I lost a lot of experiences in high school.

I would also realize that grades are more important than I thought they were for freshman year. Although I didn’t study every night and do all of my homework efficiently I still did alright. I wish that I would have done better, just because now my GPA isn’t as high as I always wanted it to be. Grades are important freshman year and I really wish that I would have cared a little more than I did.

Other things that I wish I would have done were to be involved in more clubs and activities that the school offers. These clubs are a great way to make new friends and become involved with the school.

Sports are a huge deal here at LP and although I was only on the cheerleading team, I wish that after I finished my time there I would have done another sport. Seeing as there are so many options for sports here I’m almost positive I could have found something that I would have enjoyed.

Senior year definitely snuck up on me quick and now I am only wishing I could go back in time and enjoy the small things. With graduation around the corner and college approaching soon in the summer months I can’t believe that my high school years, the greatest days of my life, are about to be over.

Take my advice as a high school senior graduating in a mere few weeks, take high school seriously but have fun the whole time, love your friends like they are the only family you have, enjoy the little things, and enjoy each and every year of high school individually. Here’s to the best days of our lives, high school.
