School has started and a few weeks have gone by. Students at Lewis Palmer High School are now excited about homecoming spirit week, September ninth through the fourteenth.

Homecoming week is a time to celebrate being back at school and hanging out with friends. Spirit week can be boring for those who do not get involved but it is fun for all who participate. Each day has different activities making everyday interesting.

Monday is pajama day and that night Ruff’ N Tuff is held in the gym at six p.m. Ruff” N Tuff is when guys play volleyball instead of girls.

Tuesday is dress as your favorite character from a television show or a movie. Some examples are Cinderella or Mario or Selena Gomez.

Wednesday is Explore, Plan, and Practice ACT testing, seniors have graduation activities. All students get out early at 11:30 a.m. buses run at normal time 3:00p.m. Wednesday night is Powder Puff on the football stadium at seven, which is when girls play football and guys are the cheerleaders.

Thursday is class color day. Freshman wear yellow, sophomores wear blue, juniors wear green, and seniors wear read. Thursday night is the car bash at 7:30p.m to 9:00 p.m. in the dirt lot by the small gym. The car bash is a car that is decorated in Rampart High Schools spirit colors then smashed and destroyed by the students of Lewis Palmer.

Friday is Ranger day, dress with school spirit. Friday night is the homecoming football game Lewis Palmer vs. Rampart at seven p.m. at the stadium. Homecoming court will be announced at the game.

Saturday, the fourteenth of September is the homecoming dance from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets to the dance can be bought in the lunch room and are being sold during lunches. Singles tickets are fifteen dollars and couples tickets are twenty-five dollars.

Spirit week is used to build up excitement for the dance. Getting students to get involved with school spirit can encourage them to go to the dance.

“My Favorite Part of homecoming week is seeing the spirit the student’s show by getting involved in all the activities. Going to watch all the sports events and seeing the kids dress up to have a good time. Homecoming week gets wild because there are so many activities going on that the kids like participating in.” Principle at Lewis Palmer said.

Lewis Palmer goes a little crazy during homecoming week, there is always something to do and people to hang out with. Spirit weeks are ever important at this school because they don’t happen a lot and are entertaining.

Enjoy homecoming spirit week and the homecoming dance. Get involved and have fun while Lewis Palmer is in celebration all week.
