The school is buzzing with excitement as the night of the Lewis-Palmer High School Homecoming dance is drawing near. September 14th is the night practically everyone at LP has been anticipating since school started.

All over the school, girls are chatting about their dresses, dates, and big plans for the night. Guys seem to be excited for the upcoming night as well, talking big about the girls each of them is going with, arranging some sort of dinner before attending.

Plans with others for before the dance range from accompanying large groups of friends, a small assortment of friends, or even one special date. For past Homecomings, it’s traditionally known that many people enjoy taking lots of pictures followed by going to some type of restaurant for dinner before arriving at the school.

It’s somewhat of a challenge to try to find a restaurant for a group to eat before the dance, considering some have differing varieties of food they like. There is a collection of quite a few adequate restaurants nearby that people may consider such as Texas Roadhouse; one that offers a general American cuisine that is broad enough to appeal to many.

Along with that, there are restaurants in old Monument available including a favorite among locals called La Casa Fiesta. La Casa Fiesta has an outdoor patio that would be a nice place to sit, enjoy dinner, and spend time with friends in the cool September air.  However, if a more adventurous idea appeals to one, there is a highly ranked Ethiopian/Mediterranean restaurant in Colorado Springs that has exquisite reviews and a group discount available called Uchenna.

The Lewis-Palmer Volleyball team is having a fundraiser regarding the wrist corsages and boutonnieres available at The Enchanted Florist and Cottage Treasures. A trip to this shop would be an ample opportunity to get necessary accessories for Homecoming as well as donate to the Volleyball team.

Students at LP can’t wait for the upcoming night; anticipating a magical experience full of dressing up, taking fun pictures, spending time with friends, eating great food, and dancing all night long.
