Discovery Canyon Campus was abruptly awakened when three Safe-2-Tell phone calls came through on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013. The calls were threatening, warning that a bomb had been placed on each level of the school.

Students were immediately evacuated to New Life Church, and waited to be picked up.  The school was closed for several hours as police and K-9 units searched the building. After finding nothing suspicious, students were allowed back in and retrieved their backpacks.

Discovery Canyon High School, 11th grader Katelyn Wilhelm commented “It was scary! I was overall really confused. When they told us to go up to farthest football field, everyone knew something was up, but no one would tell us what.”

Parents and students argued that officials “didn’t know what they were doing” and that they “should have gotten on the buses way faster.” “We should have drills for this kind of thing, not just fire drills.” said Wilhelm.  Everyone got away without injuries and school returned as scheduled on Thursday, September 5th.
