Sophomores at Lewis-Palmer High School were recently introduced to the concept of class rings. Class rings are worn to commemorate graduation from high school and, for many, are a big deal.

Class rings are expensive, but they are well worth the money. These rings can be customized depending on the student and their interests. Generally, the student’s name, graduation year, high school, and a couple interests are placed on the ring.

I believe class rings are important to have when one graduates. When someone graduates, they need something they had with them on that day, something special. No one will wear their caps and gowns again, and they won’t have their graduation certificate on them for long; clothing will go out of style and pictures will be lost, but a graduation ring is something people can have with them forever.

Graduation rings are symbols of the high school experience. They represent the time spent here, and are each one-of-a-kind.

Lewis-Palmer high school students purchase their class rings through the company “Jostens”, which allows each individual student personalize their rings with a wide variety of features and in many different styles.

Students have the opportunity to choose a classic style, or something a bit different. They choose what they want on their ring, what kind of stone they want, and even what kind of cut. Many people either choose to put their birth stone in their class ring or their school colors.

I feel like class rings are worth every penny and every student who will graduate from LPHS with the ability to get a ring should.
