Lewis-Palmer High School has had two hat days recently. The one on October 24th had a great turn out. The school raised a lot of money that went towards Harvest of Love, an event that happens every year around this time that raises money and collects food.

Today, October 31st, is also a hat day. It costs one dollar to wear your hat, or Halloween costume, all day. All of the money raised will go to help someone in need.

Harvest of Love is a program that collects cans and accepts donations, where all proceeds are given to people who need them in the community. Hat day helps gather money as well as cans, with wearing a hat costing four cans or one dollar.

“Everyone involved benefits. I love being a part of a good cause.” freshman Christine Moore said.

People decided to wear hats for a variety of reasons, ranging from wanting to donate to a good cause to just wanting to wear a hat. Donation boxes will be around the school leading up to Thanksgiving for those who want to donate.

Our school as a total raised about $200.
