Halloween is just around the corner and surprisingly many high school students still trick or treat. Trick or treating isn’t just for little kids. Being with friends all dressed up in fun costumes and getting free candy can be a good time for any age group.

“The only two reasons I like going trick or treating is for the candy and being with friends,” sophomore Liam Callahan said.

The trending Halloween costumes consist of characters from Duck Dynasty, Breaking Bad, last but not least, the minions from the movie Despicable Me and don’t forget Miley Cyrus. Those four costumes range from real life people to imaginary characters.

“My parents don’t like the idea of me going trick or treating because of the dangerous people. If I do go my parents are, either walking around with me or in a car close by to make sure I’m safe. So i most likely won’t go trick or treating this year,” Callahan said.

It’s not all about the fun; it’s also about being safe. Some parents do not allow their kids to go trick or treating without adult supervision because of the danger that is known about trick or treating. Lots of parents tell their kids to wait to eat the candy till they get home, so that the parents can check the candy to make sure there nothing bad or dangerous in the candy.
