On October 30, 2013, the French classes went to the Denver Art Museum because the Passport to Paris exhibit was on display. It is a showing of French art from the 1600’s to modern times.

It was a self-guided audio tour featuring artists like Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and moreas well as a rare opportunity to view 11 works by Claude Monet at one time. You are provided a hand-held audio set that you can guide yourself on your tour.

The French students at LP got to visit this exhibit as well as go to an authentic French restaurant, Le Central. They had a food option of chicken, steak, or crepes. They also got to choose their dessert from a range of chocolate mousse, crème caramel, or vanilla custard.

Most students chose the steak and the mousse- which is worth the long drive up to 8th street to taste. The field trip was worth the cost and it was fascinating to see authentic art by famous French painters.
