The new TV series Ravenswood had a very unsatisfying premier

Falling asleep to the premier of Ravenswood.

Abby Weingart, Ranger Review Reporter

Ravenswood, a new TV series that premiered October 22 following Pretty Little Liars, didn’t live up to what I had hoped.  The show begins with Caleb, Hannah’s boyfriend in Pretty Little Liars, and a girl named Miranda in Pennsylvania in search of Miranda’s only living relative.

The audience was introduced to Miranda in the Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode that premiered before Ravenswood.  Miranda met Caleb on the bus to Ravenswood.

While in Ravenswood the two don’t get a pleasant welcoming and they are greeted by finding their own tombstones with current pictures of them.  Once Miranda finds her only living relative, her uncle, he isn’t excited to see her and wishes she had never come.

I think Ravenswood was a good idea for a new TV series, especially showing it after Pretty Little Liars, attracting the many fans of Pretty Little Liars to watch.  However, I was not pleased with the pilot of Ravenswood.

Ravenswood tried to capture the suspense like feeling in Pretty Little Liars, but instead I found the attempt unsuccessful.  I found the show eerie and thought that the mother and children scrubbing the tombstone of their dead husband/father to protect the mother from being framed for murder was confusing.

The show had many different plots going on at once and was difficult to follow.  I found the pilot unsatisfying and therefore I did not watch the second episode that premiered on October 29th.
