As Thanksgiving creeps up, the students of Lewis-Palmer await its arrival. Thanksgiving, a time known for families coming together and eating food, is cherished by all.

The students all have different ways of celebrating Thanksgiving, and the week they have off of school.

“I live for Black Friday shopping,” said junior Delaney Purdham.

Black Friday, a day that shoppers long for all year begins at 12 in the morning on the day after Thanksgiving.  Black Friday is known for having deals that are out of this world.  People line up outside of stores hours before opening and fight for the deals.

“I put up my Christmas lights the day after Thanksgiving,” said junior Lily Commerford.

Having Thanksgiving coming later this year, students are starting to put up their lights to show off their Christmas pride.

“To celebrate Thanksgiving, I do the turkey trot with my friend Lauren Ruebenson and watch the Thanksgiving Day parade,” said junior Meghan McGrath.

The Turkey Trot is a 5k that one can choose to participate in on Thanksgiving.  From doing the Turkey Trot you receive a t-shirt to show one has participated in the Turkey Trot.
