Where Lewis Palmer students go for Thanksgiving

Every year the holiday season rolls around and with it brings excitement, vacations, and fun traditions. Lewis Palmer students travel to exotic tropical destinations, some go to other states, and others stay and eat the Thanksgiving feast with family.

Thanksgiving comes at the perfect time for students as a break before finals and a way to relax before the winter season starts. Every year, airports are packed with travelers for the holiday. Almost everyone has their special destination for Thanksgiving break.

Junior, Delaney Purdham, goes to New York every year to see the Thanksgiving Parade. The most memorable time that Delaney went to New York was when she was just eleven and saw Hannah Montana perform.

Seeing Hannah Montana was very exciting for her because Delaney was a huge fan of Hannah when she was that age. The day was also very memorable for her because it was very cold that day and her family had to get there three hours before the parade but Delaney said, “It was worth it.”

Another junior, Lilly Commerford, stays at home for the Thanksgiving and has friends come over for dinner every year. The other family that comes to her house every year are friends the Commerfords have known for many years.

Whether traditions for the Thanksgiving Holiday means traveling or staying home with family and friends, people are brought together to share love and give thanks for what they have. Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on positive things and to come together as a community.
