Ask.fm has become a place for bullying

Cheyanne Winkler, Ranger Review Reporter

Ask.fm is a site for asking questions anonymously. What was once a place to ask someone a question that they have wondered about someone and just never wanted to ask, has become a place for people to insult and bash on others. Whether it is because they don’t like the person or if it is because they don’t like something they did. They are able to tell them how they feel about it without them knowing who it is saying that.

If they aren’t insulting or stating their opinion about an event that took place in someone else’s life, they seem to be asking questions about topics in someone’s life that don’t concern them at all.

On the other hand ask.fm has been known to benefit people. Not very often, but sometimes people receive or give compliments to other people. Although it is rare, it is one of the main good things about ask.fm.

From my experience, that is all that there is to it.  For example, I have received some nice questions or statements from people, but I also get a lot of comments about relationships I have with people, as well, as insults.

A lot of social networks have become ways for people to get away with bullying others, but ask.fm seems to have taken it to an all new level.  By everything being anonymous, people can say whatever they want to anyone who has created a profile, and never get “caught” making it harder to put bullying to a stop.
