This time of year is always hard to buckle down and finish the semester and two-thousand and thirteen strong. Between running around getting gifts for all of your friends and family, trying to get your grades up and attempting to study for finals. Although it may seem like a drag, there are a few things you can do to stay focused and ace all of your finals.

“It’s always so hard for me to sit down for a good amount of time and get my studying done for all eight of my classes. I try, but I always end up getting distracted and bored. Studying is just really hard to do if I don’t have motivation,” Sophomore Kaitlyn Lewis said.

While it is a strain to sit down and take time to study, there are a few things to release some of that stress that finals and studying acquire. Different things work for different people, and one may help you get through the dreadful week of nonstop tests.

“I try to find ways to make studying stay engraved in my brain but it usually never works. Sometimes I just make goals for myself and then reward myself when I reach them, it works pretty well,” Sophomore Shelby Heins said.

If you get distracted easily then you want to make sure to put all distractions away, and put them out of reach. With them not in reach, then you won’t be tempted.

Also, if you cannot retain information very well then try coming up with ways that interest you. You can try to make up a song with your information to the tune of the song, or make up different moves to remember.

It can be stressful to try and study for all of your classes and remember all of that information. You can try different ways of studying and see what works best for you.
