8th grade orientation

Macayla Trottner, Ranger Review Reporter

Every year at Lewis-Palmer High School there is a hosted 8th grade orientation. Sport teams from the high school go to sign up interested, incoming freshmen. This past orientation was held in the main gym with the teams around the perimeter of the gym. The incoming freshmen were allowed to walk around and sign up for sports tryouts.

Besides the gym being open, the whole school was open for tours to navigate their way throughout the school. There were school administrators and returning students to help the incoming freshmen find their way around and find the clubs and sports they might be interested in trying out for.

Another reason the orientation is great is because it gives the new students a chance to meet new friends and just hang out with each other. Also, this ordeal makes high school seem a little less intimidating for them.
