It is hard to meet anyone these days who has not seen Disney’s: Frozen. Although, this animated musical is geared towards a younger audience it has attracted much attention with its teen viewers. The movie was released November 27th, 2013, but is still generating a large crowd in movie theatres everywhere.

I went into the movie not knowing what to expect, but had heard great things about it. The storyline is set in the mystical and snowy kingdom of Arendelle, where two royal sisters Anna and Elsa reside. The older of the two, Elsa, was born with an unusual gift, the power to create ice and snow from her hands. Although this ability has its benefits, it also comes very dangerous. As children Elsa’s powers greatly harmed Anna, causing Elsa to grow up very cautious of her growing powers, isolating herself completely from others. When Elsa and Anna’s parents die in an accident, Elsa is forced to become the new queen of Arendelle. At her coronation party Anna sets Elsa off when she announces her engagement to a visiting prince, named Hans, she just met that night. Anna and her sister fight and Elsa’s hidden powers show. She then flees from the kingdom to the neighboring mountains, leaving all of Arendelle in a state of desolate winter conditions.

The adventures Anna sets off in a quest to locate her lost sister and convince her to stop the snow from destroying their kingdom. On the way she is introduced to mountain man, Kristoff and his animal companion, a reindeer named Sven, who agree to accompany her on her journey. The group later meets a loveable snowman named Olaf, a creation of Elsa’s winter powers, who helps further their quest. At the same time, angry and confused villagers living in the Arendelle venture out to stop Elsa and bring her back to stop the winter. The story continues and the plot begins to thicken as more villains arise, determined to stop the two sisters.

Frozen is filled with many plot twists, and is able to keep things interesting and light with fun songs as well as humorous moments. I would recommend this adorable film to anyone who loves Disney pixar movie’s, or is in need of a smile. The songs are hard to forget and the story even more so.
