A Winter’s Tale tells a story of miracles, crossed destinies and true love. It begins one night in winter when thief Peter Lake, played by Colin Farrell, attempts to rob a mansion which appeared to be vacant. The daughter of the owners is home, however, and he is caught breaking in.

This begins the love between Peter Lake and the rich daughter, Beverly Penn. When Beverly tells Peter that she will die if her body temperature gets too high, Peter is convinced that it is his destiny to save Beverly if she needs it.

When their relationship goes farther, Beverly’s body temperature goes too high and she dies, leaving Peter alone. Peter tries many things to save her, yet nothing can, leaving Peter to wander aimlessly.

Nearly one hundred years later, Peter has not aged a day. He still needs to fulfill his destiny, therefore he doesn’t age. While wandering through the park, Peter comes across a five year old girl with cancer, also named Beverly.

After Beverly has a seizure and passes out, she goes into a critical state and begins to die. Beverly needs to be saved, and Peter does exactly that fulfilling his destiny and reuniting himself with his love, Beverly Penn.

A Winter’s Tale is one worth watching, although the plot is slightly confusing.
