Knowledge Bowl placed 2nd at the Vista Ridge meet, making the state meet.

Knowledge bowl got second, making their way to state for the third year in a row.  Teams from all over the region were at this competition including; Air Academy, who took first, Rampart, Liberty and of course, Lewis-palmer. The completion was held at Vista Ridge High school who was also competing in the competition, but apparently did not do very well.

“Knowledge Bowl is basically like team Jeopardy; you answer questions from categories, but you don’t pick the categories. The reader reads the questions and you have fifteen seconds to answer with no collaboration with any of your other team members.” Junior, Ben Mcclung said.

What the team does can be very difficult, but if they know the information it can also be a lot of fun.  In order to get ready for these completions, the team meets in Ms. Holley’s room after school from 3:00-4:00 on orange days. Practicing includes answering questions that have been asked previous year, using a buzzer and everything. The team mostly works on improving their reflexes in order to prepare for the competitions.

“Getting second and making it to state felt incredible, it’s the first time we have done so and last year we lost one of our star people and so it was pretty great to still make it to state. We also almost got first but we were really content with getting second.”

The entire team is looking forward to going to state and hope to have the schools support.
