It takes a lot of commitment, effort, and a positive attitude to be an athlete. Even more so to be a talented athlete. Wrestling in general is a difficult sport to master. Many weight and height fluctuations influence how well an athlete’s going to do. Lewis Palmer’s Darryan Vanderpool proved to be a top athlete with his fourth place win in the 138 lb. weight class.

“I felt pretty good, I mean it was a big accomplishment in my career. A lot of practice and preparation with my wrestling partner Brad Kadlubowski helped.” said Senior Darryan Vanderpool about his win.

He also explained how he had been wrestling for twelve years.

In college Darryan hopes to continue pursuing his love for wrestling and hopes to attend CSU- Pueblo next fall. Darryan represented LP well and the school congratulates him on his win and hopes to see him compete in the future!
