The spring season brings much anticipation and excitement for high school students across the nation; the end of the school year is rapidly approaching, the weather is warm, and Prom is right around the corner. Planning such an exciting event can be both nerve-wracking and stressful, the key to properly prepare for Prom is to remain calm and plan early.

Many girls worry about whether they will get asked to prom, if they do not currently have a boyfriend or significant other. Sometimes going to a dance with just a friend of the opposite gender can be even more fun than a serious date would be.  Because the pressure is off, a fun time is guaranteed.

Finding the perfect place to eat dinner with a date and group can be a challenge. Talking to the members of the group, as well as budgeting is crucial to determining where to eat before the dance. Prom is the most formal dance of the year so many try to eat dinner somewhere that fits the formal theme. Something to remember when a restaurant is acquired is making reservations. All high schools hold Prom in the spring and many even will fall on the same night. That factor should be taken into account along with that fact that Prom is held on a Saturday night, the time when restaurants are the busiest. Call and make reservations a week in advance, and on the night of Prom show up to the restaurant earlier than your reservation time. When a restaurant gets busy and a reservation has not showed up, yet the waiting list is rapidly growing, reservations can be lost or overlooked.

Many girls worry about achieving the perfect look for Prom. Hair style as well as makeup and nails all are very important pieces to acquiring the desired look. Much like making reservations, if choosing to get hair and nails professionally done for the big event, schedule the appointments in advance. Of course, hair appointments should be planned for the same day as Prom, while nail appointments can be a little more flexible in date.

When it comes to taking pictures with a date and in a group, they should be taken with enough time to get to the restaurant early as well as the actual dance. Many groups choose to take their Prom pictures in scenic locations rather than at a house. If this is the case, be sure when planning that time is being managed well.

LP’s prom is rapidly approaching and is scheduled to take place on the 26th of April, at the Black Forest Pinery, at 7:30 pm.
