Anticipation rises for new John Green movie
April 20, 2014
John Green is an author of many young adult novels, focusing on the struggles and milestones of growing up that most teenagers face. Currently one of his best-selling novels, “The Fault in Our Stars” is being formatted for the big screen, to be released to theatres everywhere, June 6th 2014.
The story focuses on two teenagers, Hazel and Augustus, both diagnosed with different forms of cancer at early ages. Sixteen year old Hazel is convinced she is a “grenade”, a ticking time bomb that could pass away at any moment; it is only a matter of when. Due to this, she is very reserved and shy with no friends. Her parents convince her to attend a cancer support group, where she is soon introduced to Augustus, another cancer patient. The two instantly are attracted to one another on every level and begin a close friendship. Over time as they continue to battle cancer and other various problems, it is unmistakable that Hazel and Augustus are meant for each other. The two begin a relationship that leads them on an amazing journey.
Hazel is to be played by actress Shailene Woodley, the lead actress in the newly released “Divergent”. While counterpart Augustus, is to be played by Ansel Elgort.
The movie is predicted to be a great success. This will also be the second of John Green’s novels to be made into a full length movie.
