On Wednesday and Thursday, the Lewis-Palmer Track and Field team will travel to the PPAC League meet to compete against other schools in the Colorado Springs area. The dedicated and competitive students on the Lewis-Palmer team plan to perform their best and athletes will continue on to state.

Some of the athletes on the team are glad to have qualified for his or her main event, but others will be participating in multiple events; spread out between the two days.

“I’m running the 4X800 meter relay, the 1600 meter run, and the 800 meter run. I’m really looking forward to going to leagues this year and I’m going to focus on meeting my goal times I set at the beginning of the year,” sophomore Emily Ng said.

With the end of the track season approaching, many of the athletes have become very determined to trim their times down in order to perform well at the league meet.

“I’m really looking forward to the meet for multiple reasons. I’m running the sprint medley, the 4X200 meter relay, and the 200 meter run all on Wednesday. While I’m excited to see how I will do, I’m also excited to watch the rest of my team compete because I’ve seen everyone work so hard throughout the season to get where they are now,” junior Lindsay Young said.

Reflecting back on the season, many of the Lewis-Palmer’s track athletes are pleased with the way they have performed and cannot wait for the league meet to begin on Wednesday so they have their final chance to prove themselves.
