As the school year kicks off, the freshmen class at Lewis-Palmer seems to be adapting perfectly to high school.

The block schedule and longer class periods both are vastly different than what these freshmen experienced in middle school. However, they are quickly learning how to endure these challenging new things.

“At first, it was really hard to get around because Lewis-Palmer is so much bigger than the middle school, but then I found all of the secret stairways,” freshman Mallory Nesmith said.

Another major difference between middle and high school is the variety of activities to become involved in.

“I’m looking forward to graduating and hopefully playing college football,” Trevor Szilagyi, 9, said.

There are so many options after one graduates high school. Getting a job, going to college or traveling are all possibilities. Although the freshmen have a considerable amount of time left in high school, it seems as though they are excited for the experience.
