The month of December can bring up all kinds of emotions for many students at LP. There is the anticipation of the holiday season quickly approaching, as well as the excitement for winter break that many anticipate. However, the end of the 2014 year commences the ending of semester thus sending many students into a state of panic regarding final exams. For students who wish to obtain a certain class grade, the results of the test can make or break that. Despite the immense amount of stress many are exposed to during this time of year, there are ways to cope with these problems.

One way to deal with stress over passing a final is to simply study. Creating good study habits is a phrase that many have heard, but is not always followed. Because there are many different styles of learning, not everyone can memorize and study the same way with effective results. One obvious tip is to fill out study guides. Most teachers create final study guides in order to help their students know exactly what to study in order to be prepared for the exam. Although this is extremely helpful, some teachers are an exception to this and do not provide a guide. While this may seem like a crisis, there is a solution. By looking at past notes and tests, the most important information can be determined for studying.

Of course it is impossible to study non-stop for so many classes. Try breaking up study time with relaxing activities. By working out, playing a sport, watching TV or simply napping, stress can be relieved. But it is important to keep a balance and make sure with these activities time is still being devoted to studying.

The more preparation is spent, the less there is to be worried about. It is crucial to remember that even though finals are extremely important, they are nothing to stress out about to the point of unwellness.
