Moving can be a hard thing for many people, and one of Lewis-Palmer’s more recent students, junior Drew McFarlane, is no exception.

Due to his father retiring from the military and the fact that his family has a fondness for Colorado, McFarlane’s family recently moved here from Lorton, Virginia.

Even though McFarlane had become accustomed to moving around a lot and having a parent involved in the Air Force, there were a few setbacks that made him nervous about his move. One major aspect that bothered him was leaving his friends in Virginia.

Despite that McFarlane has become comfortable in his new situation. After all, his family did move here because they enjoyed living in Colorado in the past, and he can definitely think of things he likes about the state today.

“I met a lot of cool people here, and I like the snow,” McFarlane said.

I asked if his attitude had changed at all between the time where he first moved here and now, and he had yet another positive response.

“It becomes easier to settle in when you get to know people the town,” McFarlane said.

Moving may have been a hassle at first, but his positive attitude has definitely benefitted him throughout his time here. Now he is definitely glad he moved here and considers Colorado his home.
