On Thursday, October 8th, the Lewis-Palmer High School soccer team took on the Palmer Bears in a district wide rivalry game. Before the soccer game began, the head soccer coach gave the team a very motivational speech about fighting to the very end and having fun while doing so.

Daniel Munn, 12, at Lewis-Palmer, had a great time on the field with his teammates and playing against his opponents the Palmer Ridge Bears. His goal for the PR game was to dominate them.

Palmer Ridge is one point ahead at the first part of the game, but Lewis-Palmer catches up with them at the second half of the game, resulting in their win at the end, with a score of 3-2. The team worked harder than ever to defeat the PR Bears. The team enjoyed the game and their victory at the end.

“My coaches and teammates are so supportive and fun to be around. The season is going well. We just beat Palmer Ridge and we’re excited for the rest of the season,” Munn said.

Munn enjoys playing soccer during his free time and with his friends. Josh Kalish, 12, inspires him because Kalish is ready to step into a leadership position whenever needed and he is one of the hardest working individuals Munn knows. Kalish is one of Munn’s teammates he looks up to the most.

“This is the best team we’ve had in years. They are a great group of guys who are always ready to work hard,” Munn said.

The team said it was great to finally beat the Palmer Ridge Bears, and take the gold trophy home with them.

Munn also looks up to his coach, Bryan Barkley, because he has shown that year after year he can turn an average team into a great one. His winning attitude is contagious for the whole team.
