The players, students and Rowdy Rangers were hyped and all came to the game played Thursday night at Palmer Ridge High School. The full student section from both schools cheered on their team throughout the matches. Both schools waved a flag in support of their school. Palmer Ridge High School waving their flag and Lewis-Palmer High School waving an American flag.

“I think we are going to kill it! My goal is to just do really well. It’s just another game, but we are all hyped and really prepared. Arizona was a great opportunity and a good experience for the team, we’ve learned how to work together,” Kessandra Krustinger, 9, said.

“There is a lot of pressure since Palmer Ridge is our rival school, but we just want to win to show them that Lewis-Palmer is better,” Emily Harris, 10, said.

The coaches didn’t want this game against Palmer Ridge High School to be just another game, but wanted the volleyball teams to go out and do their best in this big blowout rivalry game.

“We are prepared for this game. Our consistency on our serving is up, we are aggressive, and have been working on getting a good first contact. We are just going to come out and play our best. We are all nervous because Palmer Ridge is our rival school, but we are just going to play and keep improving,” Susan Odenbaugh, Head Coach, said. “I just want to make sure we stay aggressive, reduce errors and make sure we aren’t giving away easy points.”

The C-Team Lady Rangers prayed before their match for a good game and for the safety of everyone on the court. The C-Team won their match in two games with a 10 and 11 point lead. The teams worked well together and got several good saves on the ball.

“The entire team supports each other by giving encouraging feedback on and off the court. We talk about our goals at the beginning of every game and talk about how we can achieve them together and as a team,” Harris said.

The JV and Varsity teams also won their matches in two games. Krustinger had made many kills on the ball, and Ally Moeller served 5 times in a row, receiving the highest serving streak during the JV game.

“We all played really well, but our serving could have been improved; and we should have kept our weight forward and watch for the ball to come over. Overall we played really well,” Ellie Rank, JV Coach, said.

The big game against Palmer Ridge High School ended well with a victory for all three volleyball teams. The rival games against Palmer Ridge High School has been won, but with two weeks left in their season, the Lady Rangers are still working hard to finish their season strong.
