Konnor Kingsmore, 9, is a student at Lewis-Palmer High School this year. He is winning over the student body and the teachers with the charm a fresh faced student possesses.

“My favorite sports are football and hockey, because they’re a lot harder than other sports. They’re contact sports and I like contact sports. I’ve been playing football since third grade and hockey since I was about ten,” Kingsmore said.

There are a lot of new bodies taking up space in Lewis-Palmer this year. Exchange students, transfers, freshman and so on. Kingsmore does not only walk the halls with certainty, but he glides through them with confidence, knowing that close to everyone is his friend.

“Dylan Ellis has been a huge influence on me. He’s an awesome wide receiver and he’s hilarious,” Kingsmore said.

High school is a place for making friends and losing friends. The ones who leave a mark, who influence others, are the ones to be remembered.

Kingsmore attended DCC middle school during 8th grade and transferred to Lewis-Palmer for his freshman year. Kingsmore said that Lewis-Palmer is definitely a lot more relaxed than DCC and people seem to be more accepting of new students.

“I broke my hand when I caught a hockey puck once, that was probably my worst injury. But I really want to get a football scholarship, my dream college is University of Colorado Boulder,” Kingsmore said.

Kingsmore injured himself playing football last year, so now he is trying to concentrate more on his grades so that he can get into his dream college; hense the reason why he is not participating in playing hockey this year.

Kingsmore has many more years to prove himself with his grades and athletics. By the end of his senior year, perhaps the jungle, referred to as Lewis-Palmer, will be the memories he carries with him to University of Colorado Boulder.
