The Conor Mcgregor Vs Khabib Nurmagomedov fight took place at UFC 229 on October 6, 2018 at T-Mobile stadium in Las Vegas. The fight was for the lightweight championship to see who would secure the championship belt.

Khabib won the title officially by putting McGregor by submission, which is to put someone in pain until they tap out. Khabib had been 26-0 before the fight and came out 27-0. McGregor record came out as 21-4.

After the submission, Khabib threw his mouthguard at McGregor and started fighting McGregor’s  coaches. As this went on, one of Khabib’s coaches jumped into the ring and punched Conor in the mouth. Khabib’s coaches were later sent to jail and Khabib were deported back to Russia.

“This is not my best side. He talked about my religion, he talked about my country, he talked about my father.” Khabib said. “He came to Brooklyn, he broke bus and nearly killed two people. So why do people still talk about me jumping over the cage? I have shown respect. ”

According to Aljazeera.com, a Russian news site, McGregor launched a series of verbal attacks on the Russian in the build-up to the fight on Saturday. Khabib made derogatory remarks about his family, his Muslim faith, and the Dagestan region of his homeland. Before the fight, McGregor gave verbal attacks towards Khabib’s family and about Muslim faith.

Khabib’s Visa and green card were taken away and he was sent back to Russia, as well as being restricted from receiving the belt.

“I knew that was gonna happen,” the owner of the UFC, Dana White, said. “I said, ‘If we put the belt on him in the Octagon, they’re gonna be throwing whatever they got down into the Octagon.’ So I said, ‘Let’s just try to get him out of here without any incident.’”

In a post-fight interview, White said he just wanted the conflict to be resolved and after talking it over, White announced that Khabib was the champion of UFC 229 and Conor was stripped of the belt. White offered a 15 million deal to Khabib to rematch McGregor; he denied it and responded with “The rat is afraid to fight.”

McGregor said he is not ready to retire and still wants to fight Khabib again even, after the whole fight. Khabib wants to fight Ferguson, another UFC fighter, and then retire. Tony Ferguson won during UFC 229 against Anthony Pettis and is thought of the person to go against the champion. Ferguson has accepted and will go up against Khabib in UFC 230.
