Student seeks equestrian lifestyle

Lindsey Manor, Ranger Review Reporter

A freshman student who does equestrian competes in IEA competitions.

“I’ve been doing this since I was 4. I started out western riding and eventually got into jumpers. I love competing because I really like being around my friends. You get nervous at first, but once it’s over with, you feel proud of yourself. I’ve traveled to Arizona and Virginia for competitions. I started when I was really young; my family went up to see horses and to have some family time, and I really got into it. There are many scholarships to do horseback riding in college. I’m apart of IEA, it’s a competition you can do starting in middle school and if you complete it through your senior year, you can get a scholarship to do horseback riding in college, which is my end goal.”
