At Lewis-Palmer this month, the male Rangers will get a chance to rock the runway on behalf of a good cause. Student council has prepared a tuxedo fashion show on behalf of the Restore Innocence charity, a non-profit organization that assists victims of child trafficking. (To learn more about Restore Innocence at restoreinnocence.org or visit their Facebook page.)

Fifteen male students will wear rented tuxedos–the company that they rent them from will donate a portion of what they paid to the cause. The tuxedo fashion show will be held on April 3rd at 7 PM in Lewis-Palmer’s auditorium.

This event is being done in collaboration with the dress drive going on throughout March in which students are encouraged to donate gently used dresses for the less fortunate in the area. Lewis-Palmer’s student council had a similar idea with these events in mind around ten years ago. The student council of  the 2014-2015 school year brought it back in the interest of both helping out a charity organization and giving the students something fun to do.

“We decided to take it on to do something during the downtime before prom,” Student Council President, Emily Barton,12, said.
