Support Sak Saum and support many
March 12, 2015
Sak Saum is a company that is all about giving back while fighting the war against human trafficking. This company is located in Phnom Penh and the Saang community in Cambodia and supports rescue, restoration, transformation and rehabilitation of exploited women and men.
This company was started by Ginny Hanson and Theavy Kang. These two, as followers of Jesus, wanted to change nations, and that is exactly what they are doing. With love, they are constantly working to put an end to human trafficking.
Anyone can support this movement by going to Sak Saum’s website which is saksaum.com/about/. The website serves as a great resource as it gives information about how to get involved.
One way to get involved and help exploited women and men is by donating. Any amount helps and all donations are tax-deductible. Donations can help with projects such as playgrounds for the Vocational Training Center, house tools and metal stamps for the newest restorative center, or a covered recreational area for program families.
Another way of giving back is to purchase items from the Sak Saum store. The store has items such as bags, accessories, jewelry, wallets, cosmetics, and clothes. Sak Saum can be found at many local shops in Monument and Colorado Springs. Some nearby shops include The Love Shop, New Life Church, Paint the Town and Yobel Market. The best part about buying from Sak Saum is that the men and women that are saved from trafficking make all the items by hand.
Sak Saum provides physical healing for those who were exploited. Housing, food, medical/dental care, transportation, fair trade salaries and education.
Mental healing programs are also provided. In these programs men and women are taught English and how to read and write “Khmai”, the language spoken in Cambodia. These mental programs also focus on learning skills used in leadership, listening and communication.
At Sak Saum, vocational programs are also offered. This option teaches training in sewing, design and organization.
Emotional and spiritual programs are also available to work on relationships with family and God. This involves one-on-one care if needed and worship and Bible studies are available to help.
This organization is so beneficial and is working constantly to help those recovering from drug addiction, gang involvement, prison, abuse, exploitation, and much more.
Help Sak Saum and help fight the battle against human trafficking.
