Do You Believe? is a new inspiring religious movie that hit the theaters on March 20th. Focused on twelve souls who intersect paths at once, a pastor, Matthew, works to reignite the faith he preaches to others. By doing so, everyone portrayed in the influential story are impacted and touched in different ways through engaging with the pastor.

From the creators of God’s not Dead, the twelve people are beginning to fall away from their religion until they learn that the real power is in the Cross of Christ. However, it all started with Matthew after he is influenced by a “street” preacher carrying a cross in order to define representing God. The pastor ultimately has the main job to see the power in the Cross of Christ. The preacher is enabled to influence Matthew who then inspires and helps the twelve souls regain a better grasp of their faith. In the end, a vast miracle is performed and they are all left with the power God has.

While significantly ignited with encouragement, the movie has gained only somewhat excepting reviews from critics, receiving only about five out of ten stars. There is a diverse attitude of comments as well ranging from positive to bad. One critic on Rotten Tomatoes says that the audience is for believers and truly satisfies them. However, another critic states that the movie is only directed toward the faithful, and that it is more political than religious. From Roger Ebert, a critic analyses that the film started promising but grew to be clumsy.

Needless to say, the movie still reacts emotions in the viewers with inspirational and viewer engagement. The ultimate question portrayed in the end is ‘Do You Believe?’.
